HaiCo’s tourism portfolio includes the Tlell River House and West Coast Resorts, giving HaiCo a range of products to market including cultural tourism and a highly recognisable outdoor recreational product.
The Tlell River House was recently acquired by HaiCo as a result of work undertaken by the CHN to cancel a bear hunting/lodge operations based in the Tlell area. A manager is in place and planning underway for an updated business plan to open the lodge for cultural and wilderness tourism in the spring of 2012. Some modifications of the lodge are being done to facilitate the changes in direction with the lodge operation.
On August 26, 2011 HaiCo acquired the assets of West Coast resorts which include five high-end recreational fishing lodges on northwest Vancouver Island, the central coast and Haida Gwaii. The acquisition also includes a lease on the Sandspit Airport Inn. Operations and administrative functions will be integrated in 2012 allowing for greater efficiency.
