About Us

The HaiCo aquaculture initiative involves the set-up of commercial scale, long line scallop farms in Cumeshewa and Skidegate inlets in the waters of Haida Gwaii. These waters, as shown during pilot project trials, have incredibly fertile growing waters.

The startup phase involves training and skills development of workers, installation of equipment, and the transfer of 2 million scallop seed.

Principal goals are to exceed a 10 million piece per year production rising incrementally to 20 million over a seven year time frame.
